Steamed muffins

Use any off the self muffin mixture, using powder milk where milk is required and carry oil in a small sealed container. You will need a double boiler of some description. They are easy to make using disposable aluminium baking trays from the super market. Cup cake moulds are handy to have as well – either the disposable paper type or a non-stick silcone type, although you can eat  this straight from the bag.

For 1 serve you will need the following:

  • 45 grams muffin mix
  • 5 grams powdered milk
  • 25 ml of water
  • 5 mil oil

MuffinsWhat to do:

  • Pre mix dry ingredients into a food safe zip-lock bag
  • Add the oil and water.
  • Seal the bag and knead to mix the ingredients together throughly.
  • Cut a corner of the bag and pour into a mold (or leave in the bag)
  • Steam in your double boilder for 10 minutes.
