Bourghal Kofte

Pack ingredients in separate snap lock bags or small containers.

Pack 1:

  • 3/4 cup Bourghal

Pack 2:

  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Pack 3:

  • 1 Dspn dried onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried mint leaves
  • 1 tsp vegetable stock powder

In a small container

  • 3 Dspn lemon juice
  • 3 Dspn oil
  • 3 Dspn

What to do:

  • Place bourghal into a pot with 1 cup water
  • Bring it to the boil
  • Set aside and the grain soak in the water
  • Add Pack 2 and knead for 5 minutes until well combined
  • Roll into small kofte balls
  • Fry Pack 3 for 1 min
  • Add 2 cups water and bring to the boil
  • Simmer balls for 7 – 10 mins
  • Add more water if required
